Thank you for visiting the website of Curious Designs! I would like to give some background information about the origins of Curious Designs and the choice for the products in the collection. To start with, shortly some things about myself. My name is Kim Hagen and I founded Curious Designs out of a passion for unique items. I'm a graduate in Work- and Organizational Psychology and Cultural Anthropology, but in my leisure time I like being creative, for example furniture restyling, interior decoration and photography. I also love to go shopping for beautiful, special, hard-to-find decoration items. Another hobby of mine is traveling to exotic, faraway places. I decided to set up my own business in order to be able to combine all these elements.

As a cultural anthropologist, cultural customs and practices fascinate me. I'm always interested in finding out why people do what they do. During my travels I go shopping for Curious Designs as well. To emphasize the unique character of the items, I will add - if available - a description of the background and origins of the products. In this way you will buy more than just a beautiful product: at Curious Designs you buy items with a story, with character.

The collection of Curious Designs can be seperated into three sections, the "3 C's":

CREATIVE, CULTURAL and CURIOSA.

CREATIVE - Many of these products are designed and made by myself. On the one hand, products engraved with a laser engraving machine, such as cutting boards and wooden phone cases. On the other hand, furniture, like handmade tree trunk (side)tables and restyled drawer cabinets.

CULTURAL - Beautiful cultural items from abroad that give your home a vivid, exotic feel. This part of the collection also involves, mostly colourful, jewelery.

CURIOSA - Excentric items, one-of-a-kind, funny, and unique. Talking pieces that grab your attention and will amaze you!

Something that applies to all products: there is only a limited number of items available. Sometimes just one, since items are chosen individually. By doing so, the collection of Curious Designs, and your purchased items, stay unique.
